Getting past the initial screening process can be a little discouraging, especially if you know your skills are exactly what the company needs. Using a technical recruiter to augment their own HR team, employers are able to narrow the playing field and zero in on a handful of candidate.  By retaining IT staffing companies, they are able to pre-screen candidates and only bring in the most qualified IT professionals for an interview.  The trouble is, unless you’re already connected with a technical recruiter, your resume could be overlooked.  Technical recruiters have a way of “presenting” you to their clients that goes far beyond what you can do on your own.  When a specialized recruiter identifies you as a perfect fit for a job, he or she can send a quick email to the hiring manager and recommend they look at your resume. But they can go a step further by writing an executive summary about why you are a good fit.
